Nowadays it is hard to send out a mass email with an attachment, such as a PDF or Microsoft Word document, and be confident that the email will reach your recipients. Many spam blockers or email filters will catch emails with attachments and either remove the attached file or block the email entirely. In addition, based on the various email service provider policies, there are email size limitations which may prevent emails from being received. It is for these reasons that clubbroadCast does not allow files to be attached directly to an email.
Moving forward, the best way to email documents and other files to your contacts is by adding them as a hyperlink in your email. This allows for two things:
- A reduction of the overall file size of your message.
- Your messages will be able to easily pass through filters which will result in a more successfully delivered email.
To insert a document hyperlink into one of your emails within clubbroadCast:
- While editing an email message, type the text for your hyperlink (e.g. ‘Click here to download this month’s newsletter.’).
- Highlight the text and click on the hyperlink button located on the top of the editor toolbar.
- When prompted to enter a link URL, click on the browser icon to the right. This will open the content and hosting area (File Manager) enabling you to choose a file. If the file has not already been uploaded to clubbroadCast, click on the upload button in the top right corner of the File Manager – this will allow you to upload a file from your desktop.
While linking is best for documents and other file types, it is best to insert images directly into your email. To insert an image, click on the Insert/Edit Image icon located in the top of the editor toolbar. From there, you can choose an image within the File Manager, or upload a new image from your desktop into the File Manager.
