A successful marketing campaign is when the maximum number of recipients open and view your message. Last month, we mentioned how spam filters have become more aggressive in their approach to block unwanted emails. Unfortunately, this means a larger number of legitimate messages are captured by these filters and never reach their intended audience.

A spam filter will not only attempt to identify the sender of the message, but will also ensure the recipient is who the message was intended for. One of the methods to assist with this verification is to personalize your emails with ‘Merge Fields’.

As you should be aware, we are in the process of migrating all clients onto our new ClubHouse Online Email Marketing platform. As you become more acclimated to the new system and how it functions, we would like to provide best practices and improvement options to help you better communicate with your membership.

One question that we are often asked is “How do we increase our deliverability success rate?”

  • Mobile Registration – Members that visit your site for the first time by way of their mobile device can now register their account

One of the commonly overlooked editable spaces on your website is the site footer. Website footers are created for clubs during the initial ClubHouse Online e3 project but are often neglected with everyday creation and editing of pages. There is, however, a Copyright year placed within the site footer to ensure your content is protected - the Copyright year needs to be updated manually.

The Club Central Content Management System will be upgraded during the WEEKEND of November 8th and 9th. During this time, we are planning for a eight hour outage period:

November 9th @ 8:00 p.m. EST to November 10th @ 4:00 a.m. EST

Please ensure you're club is prepared for this upgrade by attending our free Club Central Upgrade Webinars.

Over the course of the weekend of November 8th and 9th, we will be upgrading the ClubHouse Online Content Management System (Club Central). During this time, there will be a 4-6 hour period of time during which your website will be inaccessible to all users. We will provide more information regarding the outage and its timing in the weeks to follow.

The ClubHouse Online Graphics team has created some exciting new templates that can be used for a variety of purposes. Additionally, these new templates are mobile friendly, meaning your message content will display more consistently across multiple platforms and devices. Ultimately, this reduces scenarios where email messages render differently on mobile devices vs. desktop or laptop systems.

Integrating a Twitter account into your website is a great way to help your members to stay up-to-date of the various goings on within the club and keep them engaged. Since Tweets are limited to 140 characters, notes must be short and precise.  Recently, Twitter made some changes to their widget system and has introduced a new streamlined widget.  As a result, most 3rd party widgets are no longer supported.

Earlier this summer, Google released significant changes to how its Gmail client receives and organizes emails for users. Gmail now has built-in filtering functionality that will organize users’ emails based on source and content, into five ‘tabs’ to better segregate email messages of importance from those that are less important. These tabs include Primary, Promotions, Social, Updates, and Forums, and are pre-defined and cannot be edited, but they can be turned on and off.

Prior to the May 4, 2013 Content Manager Upgrade, Administrators could export BizForm data to Excel by way of a button atop the data table contained within the ‘Data’ tab of a given BizForm.

IOS Devices (iPhone, iPad, and iPod) no longer support home screen shortcuts for ClubHouse Online e3.

As part of our ongoing commitment to continuously improving our software, we are proud to announce we are upgrading the ClubHouse Online e3 Content Manager. Some of the changes you can expect to see when the upgrade is completed are

For users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 users, the latest version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer is now in full release and Windows users scheduled to receive automated updates may soon receive this update, if they have not already.  Upon updating to Internet Explorer 10 (IE 10) you may experience problems when navigating and administering the content within your ClubHouse Online e3 website. Two major areas of concern are the inability to edit content using the website's HTML editor, and navigating the Event Calendar which also impacts your members.

The spring is nearly upon us and with that brings the promise of another golf season. As part our ongoing commitment to continually enhance the functionality available to our clubs and their members, we introduce the ability for members to add themselves to existing lottery requests (ballots). This ability is completely within the control of the club first, and the member making the request, second.

ClubHouse Online is proud to inform you that two new document types have been released – Real Estate and Real Estate Listing. These document types will assist clubs looking to provide their membership or visitors of their site with the ability to peruse properties for sale in the area.

ClubHouse Online e3 affords you the ability to create advanced web forms to capture data from users online. These forms serve an array of purposes, such as membership inquiries, event registrations, dining reservations, online surveys, etc. Information is captured and stored online and from there can
be viewed by web site administrators, or processed and exported into an Excel spreadsheet for further reporting.

The Social Networking module offers your membership a feature rich online communication experience within the secure environment of the club. Members can join groups, post messages on discussion boards and forums, create their own custom profile complete with personal information and a picture, and connect with other club members all within your ClubHouse Online website.

A common frustration amongst clubbroadCast (cbC) users is formatting content within the clubbroadCast HTML editor. Whether it’s changing font styles, such as color or type, or moving content around within the editor, it is easy to achieve undesired results. Most formatting issues stem from copying and pasting content from outside sources – such as desktop publishing software – into HTML format. In addition, many users continue to re-use email messages which may leave traces bad HTML coding within your emails. The following are tips to help prevent problems formatting emails.

  • Promoting holiday events

  • Formal announcements

  • Departmental communications; such as Golf, Tennis, and Fitness

One of the many benefits of ClubHouse Online e3 is its ability to configure security on a per page basis. Page level security refers to the ability to control which users can read, edit, and administer pages on your website. As of March 7, 2012, a new Court Booking application will be available to your club and its members, online. This version presents several significant enhancements over its predecessor. The most valuable of these enhancements are listed below.

We are pleased to release our new online help video section within the ClubHouse Online e3 help site. These videos focus on creating and editing pages within ClubHouse Online e3 and detail key troubled areas to make managing content easier for administrators. Areas include: creating and editing pages, working with images and Photo Galleries, and website security.

A popular request from club accountants is the ability to send email notifications to members that hold an overdue balance. This can be easily done with the use of clubbroadCast (cbC). cbC allows clubs to upload field information from Jonas software and use these fields to filter out member’s email addresses (through segments) and target an email to these contacts.

Document Types within ClubHouse Online e3 allow you to easily create pages geared towards specific areas within the club industry. For example, there are documents for displaying banquet facilities, dining menus, golf course tours and scorecards, and contact pages. In addition, you can use document types to create a news section within your website or create a blog and have your members comment on various topics discussed within the club.

Web browsers are continuously being updated to keep up with the latest web technologies. This makes it difficult for developers to ensure their applications are compatible with all of the browsers and the various versions currently available.

Integrating your Twitter profile with clubbroadCast (cbC) provides another means of reaching out to your membership with added tracking options. Sending a single tweet from clubbroadCast is as simple as using the Twitter site with the added option to schedule future tweets to your profile.

You can now add news articles to your ClubHouse Online e3 website by utilizing the “News” document type. The “News” document type allows administrators to set up multiple news items (or articles) all contained within one page on the club’s website.

Over the past few months you may have noticed your cbC contacts listed under various new statuses. We wanted to take the time to explain each status and the reason why they would be assigned to a contact.

We understand that positional responsibilities within an organization can change from season to season, that’s why this month we would like to promote the various facets in which new employees or new administrators of ClubHouse Online or clubbroadCast (cbC) can obtain free online documentation and training material anytime.

Nowadays it is hard to send out a mass email with an attachment, such as a PDF or Microsoft Word document, and be confident that the email will reach your recipients. Many spam blockers or email filters will catch emails with attachments and either remove the attached file or block the email entirely. In addition, based on the various email service provider policies, there are email size limitations which may prevent emails from being received. It is for these reasons that clubbroadCast does not allow files to be attached directly to an email.

On behalf of the entire ClubHouse Online e3 team, I welcome you to our new support website.

Here you will find a wide variety of information about the product offering, documentation to assist you in creating and maintaining your site, information about the implementation process as well as help videos and the ability to register for any of our free webinars.
