Templates

Templates are like email stationery or letterhead - they separate the content of your message from the overall design. You can use a standard template design for each message, replacing only the body text and images with new content. When creating template messages, you can either choose from our library of default templates, or upload a custom template.

Working With Templates

We provide several default templates that will get you started creating basic messages. There are two folders for you to select from Default Templates and Shared. For further customization of template messages, you should upload a custom template. If you are familiar with HTML you can create a template or for a fee we can create custom templates for you. Please see the Template article within Content and Hosting for more information on how to create and upload a custom template.

Managing Templates

For default templates and custom templates, there are several different options that allow you to manage your templates.

Each type of template management option is described in the list below.

  • Preview - The preview option lets you see what you template actually looks like.
  • Compose - The compose option lets you start composing a message using the template. Please see the section on Creating a new message for more information on creating an email using a Template.
Tip - For more information on creating messages using a template, see Adding Content To Template Messages Using The Template Editor in help.
  • Move - The move option lets you move the template to a new folder
  • Edit - The edit option lets you edit the template.
  • Delete - The delete option deletes the template.
Note - The move, edit, and delete options are not available for the default templates. Once you have sent a message using a template, we do not allow you to delete it. We do this because deleting the template would affect the layout of any sent messages that used the template. We recommend that you create a "trash" folder and use it to store unwanted templates.
