Messages Dashboard

The Messages Dashboard provides you with valuable information regarding your messages and deliveries. Below you will find explanations of the different types of information displayed on the Messages Dashboard.

NOTE: A message is the design for an email created in the application. An email is the actual item that arrives in a contact's inbox. A delivery is a collection of all the emails sent to a particular group of contacts at a particular time.

In addition to providing very useful information, the Messages Dashboard is also the starting point for you to begin using all of the features associated with messages.

Create a New Message

Create New Message
To begin creating a new message, click Create New Message. From here you will have various options to create new messages such as text messages, HTML, or messages from a message template. For more information see the next section on 'All Message'.

Create Automated Message Rule allows you to create an automated message that can be sent out based on contact interaction with a specific delivery, date based automation, or scheduled recurring emails every week, month, etc..  For more information on creating automate message rules, see section 'Automated Message Rules'

The Message Sending Statistics For Last 30 Days graph displays your open, click, click/open, convert, and converted/clicked percentages for the last 30 days.

Outgoing and Recently Edited Messages

The Outgoing and Recently Edited Messages sections display the outgoing and most recently edited messages respectively. Each section also has a link that lets you view all your outgoing messages, or view all your recently edited messages.

Recent Deliveries

The Recent Deliveries section lets you see your four most recently sent messages. For each individual message, you can click on the name to view the actual message, see the subject line, see the date and time the message was sent, view how many contacts the message was sent to, and view the report for that message. If you want to view all of your recently sent messages, you can click on View All Deliveries.

 

Templates, Replies, Automated Message Rules


Each of these sections provides you with a brief description of the feature and provides you with links to view all templates, replies, or automated message rules respectively. Additionally, the Automated Message Rules section provides you with a link to quickly begin creating automated message rules.



Using the Left Navigation Panel on the Messages Dashboard

The left navigation panel provides you with quick access to messages categories within your account.

With the exception of the Calendar link, all of the other links on the left side navigation will take you to pages that have tables that you can search and sort. Below is a description of each of the search and sort options native to each table.

Search Folder
The Search function allows you to search the messages contained within the table you are viewing.
It is not recommended to show more than 50 rows. Doing so will cause delays in loading time. 




The table navigation buttons let you see the next/previous page displayed in the table. For example if your table contained 100 total messages and you had 50 selected for Show Rows, then you could click the right arrow to display the next 50 messages in the table.


Viewing Outgoing, Sent, and All/Recently Edited Messages


In addition to the designated sections described above, you can also view your outgoing and sent messages by clicking on the respective links in the left side navigation.

Outgoing Messages Page

The Outgoing Messages page lets you see all of the messages that are currently scheduled to be delivered (i.e. all of your outgoing deliveries). You can find an explanation of each column displayed in the Outgoing Messages table below.


 If you wish to stop a delivery, you can click the Stop Delivery button.



Outgoing Messages Table Columns

Message - The Message column displays the name of the outgoing messages.

Type - The Type column displays the type of message, either Regular or Automated. A type of "Test" means the message was sent as a test message. A type "Automated" means that the message is being sent as part of an automated message rule.
Recipients - The Recipients column displays the total number of contacts for whom the outgoing messages is being sent to.
Date to be Sent - The Date to be Sent column displays the date that the outgoing message is scheduled to be sent on.
Status - The Status column indicates the current status of the message
# Sent - The # Sent columns indicates the number of emails sent for this delivery.

All Messages

From the All Messages page, you can see all of your messages. By default, the All Messages table is sorted to show the most recently edited messages first. From this table, you can move, copy, add any messages to a campaign, delete by using the Move, Copy, Add To A Campaign and Delete buttons. Please review the next section entitled 'All Messages' for more information.

All Deliveries

The All Deliveries page lets you see all of the messages that have been sent. You can use the Delete Delivery button to a delete a specific delivery, or you can add a delivery to a campaign by clicking the Add To A Campaign button.


Note - When you delete a delivery, you are only deleting the delivery and not the associated message.

Trash Can - Viewing Deleted Messages 

When a message is deleted, it will be stored in the trash can. You can click the Trash Can link to view all of your deleted messages.

Viewing The Deliveries Calendar 

Click on the Calendar link in the left side navigation to view the full deliveries calendar. The small dot with arrows in it is used to represent a delivery sent via an automated message rule. The solid color dot represents all other deliveries, and matches the color assigned to the campaign that the message belongs to.

Below is a description of each of the icons that appear on the mini and full Delivery Calendars.

  • A/B Split Delivery Calendar Icon A/B Split Test Delivery - Represents a delivery sent as part of an A/B split test.
  • Report Calendar Icon View Report - You can click this icon to view a report for a delivery.
  • Regular Delivery Icon Small Calendar or Regular Delivery Full Calendar Icon Regular Delivery - The envelope icon represents a regular delivery on the mini calendar. If more than one delivery is occurring on an individual day, you can move your mouse over the regular delivery icon on the mini calendar to reveal the rest of the deliveries scheduled for that day. The dot represents a regular delivery on the full calendar. You will notice the dots are different colors. The colors correspond to the campaign that the delivery belongs to.
  • Automated Message Delivery Calendar Icon or Automated Message Full Delivery Calendar Icon Automated Message Delivery - The envelope icon represents a delivery sent as part of an Automated Message Rule on the mini calendar. The dot represents a delivery sent as part of an Automated Message Rule on the full calendar. You will notice the dots are different colors. The colors correspond to the campaign that the delivery belongs to.
  • iCal Calendar Icon Subscribe to iCal - Allows you to subscribe to a feed of your calendar.
  • Current Day Calendar Icon The Current Day - Marks the current day on the mini Delivery calendar.

Organizing Your Messages With Folders
 

By default, all the messages you create are housed in the Messages folder. You can view the contents of this folder by clicking the folder with the red plus sign in the left side navigation to expand the folder contents.



If you click on the word Messages link in the left side navigation it will take you to the Message folder. This is will enable three new items in the left hand Nav. Rename Folder, Delete Folder and Create New Folder. 


If you create subfolders within the messages folder, they will be displayed under the messages folder. You can view their content by clicking on the name of the folder whose contents you wish to view.
