You have the ability to add content to your Mobile Optimized Website by using two options that are accessible through Club Central. The two options are adding Mobile Content and linking to an existing page on the club’s site. Members also can access the content on the mobile site by using the Super Menu. This document will provide the steps to create content for the mobile view of the site and how to access the Mobile Super Menu.
There are two options when adding Content pages to the Mobile version of your club’s website. You can opt between the Mobile Content page type and linking an existing page.
Adding mobile content to the club’s site is an option to create a completely new page that will only be available within the Mobile optimized section of your website. Follow the steps below to create mobile content pages.
The new page will appear on at the bottom of the Mobile section on the Content Tree, and you can use UP and DOWN to adjust the order of the pages.
Keep in mind that when Publish from and Publish to dates are not set, any Mobile content page does need to be saved and published in order for the content to be visible on the Mobile Super Menu.
The second option to add mobile content is to select the Link an existing page option. When linking an existing page, you are essentially creating a mobile optimized version of an existing full site page. Although very convenient, there are some important things to keep in mind when linking an existing document, all of which are covered here. To link to an existing page, follow the steps below:
Copy page permissions: If this option is selected, the linked page will have the same security settings as the original Full Site page. If unchecked, the security on the Mobile pages can be configured independently.
Once linked, a new version of the selected page will be created and optimized for display on a mobile device. You can see the new page appended to the Mobile area in the Content tree, with an icon indicating it is linked to another page.
The format and layout of the page may be slightly different depending on the template of the linked document. Keep in mind that the more advanced page the template uses, the harder it may be to properly adjust all of the content on the mobile site. Examples of what to expect below:
In order to provide users with greater ability to navigate the mobile optimized site, a super menu has been introduced. To access the super menu, users can touch the super menu button at the upper left corner of the window or swipe left to right along the top banner. Either of these actions will open the super menu.
It is important to remember that Linked and Mobile Content pages will be visible based on their Page Security settings.
For more information on page/content visibility including a listing of other roles that can be assigned, please see the article Page Security.
In addition to the available content pages, the Home page link will be listed, which will redirect the user to the log in page where they can enter their log in credentials. Below the Home page link, a Full Site link will be displayed allowing the user to navigate to the full version of your club’s website.
