Newsletter

Newsletter Document Type can be used to easily display newsletters or other articles that are saved in PDF format. Usually clubs would update a new PDF for monthly newsletters with the most recent newsletter being displayed at the top of the page.


Essentially, the Newsletter Document Type is simple page in e3 that will host a list multiple PDF files, sorted by post date. Once created, you can add PDF files to your Newsletter page.


Note: The maximum file size for PDF files within the Newsletter Document Type is 10MB

Creating A Newsletter

  1. Select a page within the content tree where you would like to create your Newsletter. A Newsletter Document type can be created at the root level of your website or as a child/sub page of a parent page.
  2. In the top left corner of Club Central click on the NEW button to create a new document. A menu listing of all Document Types available will appear in the right hand pane of Club Central. Alternatively, you can right click on the root or page where you are creating the Newsletter and click 'New' on the context menu. Select the 'Newsletter' Document Type.
  3. You will be prompted to enter the name of your Newsletter. When finished click ‘Save’ to proceed.

Your page will now be displayed in your Content Tree to the left within Club Central.


Reminder: Any page created within Club Central is required to be published before it is visible to non site administrators.

Adding PDF Files To Your Newsletter

Once your Newsletter page has been created using the Newsletter Document Type, you can start adding PDF files by uploading them from your local desktop.
  1. Select your Newsletter page.
  2. Click 'New' at the top left of the Club Central to display the list of available document types. Notice the available Document Types - you are only able to select Newsletter PDF - the Newsletter Document type will only support one document type for child pages.
  3. Type in the name of the newsletter. Under 'File Attachment', click on the 'Upload File' to locate the PDF on your computer. Finally, enter the PDF file's 'Post Date' - this will determine which order the newsletters appear on the left hand navigation, with the most recent posts the top of the PDF file listing.
  4. Click 'Save'
You will now see your PDF file(s) listed within your Newsletter page. A reminder that PDF files will be listed based on your Post date, starting with the recently posted PDF to the oldest. 



In Addition to Post Date, you can also use the 'Hide Newsletter' option to hide the PDF file from your list of PDF files.

To edit the page settings for PDF Files, click on the PDF file and select the 'Form' tab from the top Page menu. Be sure to click 'Save' when finished.
